OBTAINING MARINE PARTS IN EL SALVADOR

We just had a short meeting with Gabriel Alvarado, the director of the marine store in San Salvador, Marinsa. If you look back through the blog you will find a little profile of the store. Gabriel tells us that he is now an independent store and no longer associated with Marinsa, Florida. He is available by email and assures us that he checks his emails every day. If someone needs some parts ordered he can do that however, he says that there is no such thing as overnight delivery anywhere south of the U.S. border. Marinsa receives a container approximately once a month shipped from Florida to eastern Guatemala then it is trucked into San Salvador. He is willing to let you drop-ship items to his shipper to have it included in his shipment. Gabriel says that he can order pretty much anything but it can take from a week to a month to arrive depending on the product. Additionally, the amount of duty varies widely based on the product ordered. Some products such as cloth are protected and carry a large tax. You can contact Gabriel via email at: VENTAS@MARINSA.COM.SV.  It is important to put Cruisers Rally in the subject line.

Gabriel offers to come over to Bahia and present a seminar on obtaining parts in El Salvador any time we wish. Remember that Marinsa is providing four $25 gift certificates to give away during the cruisers party.
